GN vertical cuttings dryer can be used for both water
based mud and oil based mud/ or SBM. The maintenance cost is one of the main
concern for mud service company or waste service company, they are all looking
for a cost effect dryer for the drilling
waste management compared with US brand cuttings dryer or ship the waste to
drilling waste management companies.

The main spare parts for vertical
cuttings dryer are as below, most of the maintenance cost is from these
spare parts:

(1)  
Screen
basket, the screen basket and screen frame are separated components and they
are balanced separately. The screen basket scraper is installed to prevent the
discharged fluids from blocked on the screens, sometimes the solids content is
very high, it is not easy to get down from the screens. Based on different
drilling cuttings conditions, the replacement period will be different for the
screens, pls check with GN sales engineer team for the required quantity in one
year.

(2)  
Flites
& Cone Rotor Assembly, the 8 flites are fixed on the rotor assembly, you
need to replace it completely. The flights are used to prevent cuttings
blocking the screens and scraping the mud inside the screens.

(3)  
Bearings
replace time based on actual working time.

(4)  
Bell
jar with scraper, the scrapers are used for solids discharge scraping.

(5)  
Liquid
discharge ring, it is not easy to be damaged normally, 1 set is required as
back up.

GN solids control develop new
products Thermal Desorption Unit as the further treatment equipments for GN
standard vertical cuttings dryer waste management system.

According to our clients
feedback after using GN drilling waste management system, the oil content in
the cuttings is below 5% , in some countries, the parameter is acceptable for
environmental laws, but in some other country, they have extreme strict environmental
protection that they need the “number” under 1%. So they need the thermal
desorption unit to do the further treatment. But because of the high price of
the TDU, most clients can only rent it.

GN thermal desorption unit can
match our own drilling waste management system, also it can match other brand
vertical cuttings dryers. Same as the goods solids control system can reduce
the drilling waste, so the drilling waste management system working performance
will be improved; the goods drilling waste management system( or vertical
cuttings dryer system) can reduce the oil content in the cuttings as much as it
can, so the thermal desorption unit will work better. GN vertical cuttings
dryer’s data is around 3.77%. If the cuttings dryer did not works well, you
will have to pay more in the further treatment, and the TDU result may not
match the environmental requirement.

TDU will be used only for oil
based drilling cuttings treatment, for water based cuttings, GN high-G dryer
shaker and high speed decanter centrifuge will separate the solids very dry and
ship them by truck, and recycle the fluids as much as possible. We make them
into modular unit and make them combination in a system to meet your different
requirement for both water based and oil based drill cuttings.

Decanter centrifuge is seldom
used for horizontal directional drilling because of the high cost and
separation factor. Only when the fine solids accumulated on the mud recycling
system and the desilter cone can not separate them out, then the recycled mud
can not be used for drilling unless the fine solids (smaller than 15 microns)
could be reduced. GN low speed/ middle speed decanter centrifuge GNLW452
centrifuge should be used by such situation.

GN has shipped 4 sets of
1000gpm mud recycling system with 2 units of GNLW452 decanter centrifuges for
CPP(China Petroleum Pipeline Bureau) for their crossing project. Totally 4 sets
of desander mud cleaner with 2 10inch desander cone and double deck shale
shaker GNZS705, 4 sets of desilter mud cleaner with 10pcs 4inch desilter cones
with double deck shale shaker, 8 sets of GNLW452 decanter centrifuge with 18inch
bowl diameter, 1800rpm speed, 8 sets of centrifugal pumps to feed for the
desander, desilter, 8 sets of feeding pump for the decanter centrifuges. 8 sets
of 20ft container to install the equipments on it and with storage capacity.

This is not the first order
from CPP, they start to buy mud recycling system for HDD since 2010, and until
now they already bought 30 sets of drilling mud cleaning system from GN solids
control.

The function of the decanter
centrifuge in this system is not to separate all the fine solids under 15
microns, the purpose is to reduce the fine solids content in the recycled
fluids so it can be re-used for the drilling. So the centrifuge capacity do not
have to equal with the solids control mud cleaner, it is not always running, we
will open it according to the mud conditions.

The special screw conveyors are jointly designed and manufactured by
GN Solids Control and Italy Brand WAMGROUP, which can be widely used for the
drilling cuttings transfer, including water based cuttings, oil based drilling

The screw conveyor is normally used in drilling
cuttings transfer system, working together with GN drilling cuttings treatment
system, it is used to feeding for the vertical cuttings dryer, collection of
cuttings from the shale shaker, mud cleaner, decanter centrifuge, and
collection of discharged solids from the vertical cuttings dryer and decanter
centrifuge, and transfer them to the cuttings box.

Recently we
shipped a complete set of customized mud mixing tank system to South America,
as a small part of a liquid mud plant.

The main configuration of the mud mixing tank system
is as below:

1 4 sets of 40 feet container size mud tanks with
necessary handrails, stairs, walkways, connection pipelines, valves, flexible
connections, flanges, man hole, clean gate, etc. 3 of them are mud mixing
tanks, 1 of them is mud processing tank.

2 Each tank with 2 units of GNJBQ15DD ( double blades)
mud agitators, 2 units of 2 inch mud guns, 1 fluids level meter

3 Each tank with 6×5 with 75HP centrifugal pump as
transfer pump, 75HP shear pump for cutting the mixed chemicals, 60HP mixing
pump working with venture hopper.All of the pumps are designed to multi
functions, for example:

The transfer pump can work as feeding pump of shale
shaker and OBM processing tank; the mixing tank can work as transfer pump when
stop mixing. The shear pump can work as transfer pump when it is available or
when the transfer pump is under maintenance. The transfer pump can transfer the
clean fluids from the liquid mud plant to mud mixing tank system, also it can
transfer the mixed fluids into mud storage tanks.

4 One of the tank is as oil based mud processing tank,
with the solids control equipments as : 2-panel shale shaker GNZS852-HB, 2
units of high speed decanter centrifuge GNLW363CG, mud agitators, mud guns,
centrifuge feeding pumps.

5 Operation table for each mud mixing tanks, the
chemicals will be put on the operation table by forklift for convenient
operation.

Containerized drilling waste management system is
special designed by GN solids control for cold weather and other purpose. We
have made a lot of sets of drilling waste management system customized and
installed them inside the standard 40ft container. The purpose is as below:

1 easy transportation, bulk cargo shipment is always
not so flexible on freight line arrangement. Our system can be shipped as a
container through our handlings.

2 prevent of the cold weather: Especially in Russia,
our system can work when the temperature lower to -40°,
there is special insulation inside the container to keep the equipments warm.

3 There is air conditioner and fan which is for the
operation in summer.

4 Door and windows are opened for operation,
maintenance, and radiating.

5 The top proof cover is with function of sun proof,
rain proof and snow proof and other water proof.

Except for drilling waste management system, we also

The purpose for the container is more or less similar with the above case. But
this is a high configuration design, to save cost, we can remove the container,
and put the dewatering unit on the centrifuge skid or on the tank directly,
with sun proof cover on top.

utilized in mud recycling system, solids control system and liquid mud plant.
It is suitable for standard container trailer transportation. Especially in
liquid mud plant, for small footprint purpose, the standard container sized
tanks can be stacked for 2 or 3 layers to save place and save money.

Normally there are 2 types degassers in solids control
drilling fluids system, one is vacuum tank degasser, the other one is Atmospheric
Degasser. GN solids control produce vacuum tank degasser for oil & gas
drilling solids control system.

We have 2 models vacuum tank degasser, GNZCQ270 &
GNZCQ360, both of them with 920mm diameter vacuum tank, and with same footprint
same dimension. GNZCQ270 with treating capacity 270m3/h, GNZCQ360 with treating
capacity 360m3/h. We will choose correct model according to the drilling rig

degasser because it is self-suction type.

Except for vacuum tank degasser, GN also produce mud
gas separator which is used before solids control system, as a part of well
control, usually it is working together with flare igniter. The flare igniter
is located far from the drilling rig which is the safety area without hazardous
gas. It is connected with the mud gas separator by pipes according the distance
from the drilling rig to safety area.
