Mud recycling system is normally used for drilling project to recycle the drilling mud, because the material of drilling mud is very expensive, mud recycling system can save the drilling cost and protect the environment. GN designed mud recycling system has been used for oilfield drilling, horizontal directional drilling and core bed methane drilling, and the treating capacity various from 150gpm to 1000gpm.

The mud recycling system is a circulation system in oil and gas drilling project, but in HDD project, it is not closed-loop mud system, there is a mud pit between the drilling rig and mud recycling system.

GN mud mixing system is composed of a mud mixing tank, mud hopper and mixing pump and pipelines, valves, stairs, handrails , mud agitator, mud gun, sometimes in the liquid mud plant we put the decanter centrifuge on top of the mixing tank.

The mud mixing unit is also called jet mud mixer, it can be installed on the mud tank for convenient move, also it can be located on the ground and connect with the mixing tank by pipe, so that it can enlarge the storage capacity of the mud tank. You can also put the mud hopper on top of the mud tank or on the skid of the mud tank, the former way can get the best performance, but difficult to add chemical material, you have to lift the material through the stair. The later way is easy to add material, but the mixing effect is not so good as the former one.

The demand of drill cutting storage tank is increasing more and more. In the oil drilling industry a growing problem is the storage and transportation of oil contaminated drill cuttings that are required to be removed from a drilling installation and transported to a disposal facility both in onshore and offshore operations. In zero discharge system, drill cuttings and associated waste fluids are collected on the rig in cuttings boxes, then sent to shore for disposal or treatment prior to disposal.

The mud tank needs 2 types of unions, including hammer union and air union, air union is also called pneumatic union, since GN do not use such union in the mud tank design, we would like to introduce hammer union mainly. Hammer unions are one of the most common “quick connection” methods used in the oilfield for joining together components in a temporary pipe work system. Drilling mud fluid systems connecting the steel tanks to the pumps need leak proof and quickly detachable connections for large diameter pipe 4” to 16”.
