Shale shaker parts

There are thousands of parts of a shale shaker. Mainly it includes shaker deck, shaker screen, vibration motor, buffer box, shaker deck angle adjustment device, shaker skid, bracket, control panel and damping spring, the other parts are small parts like screw, nuts, rubbers, wedge, flange, etc.

Usually different shakers produce by different manufacturers are different size in spare parts, only the shaker screen size might be similar. If you install the bracket with desander

 cone and desilter cone on top of the shale shaker, it called mud cleaner. 

Zarandas lineales

Zarandas lineales” is also called linear motion shale shaker, there are “Zarandas lineales”,“elípticas zarandas” by vibration mode. At present “Zarandas lineales” are the most popular type shale shaker used in the oilfield.

Shale shaker is used to separate most of the solids from the drilling fluids so that the mud can be re-used, its working principle is to use the vibration strength to separate the solids from the shaker screens, so there are 2 important factor to determine the shaker performance: G-force &shaker screen. 

Vertical submersible pump

Vertical submersible pump (semi-submersible) is also called submersible slurry pump, it is used to pump slurry( which content large solids) and waste water. In drilling rig mud system, it is used as 2 functions:

1 As feeding pump of shale shaker, to pump the slurry from mud pit to shale shaker inlet pipe, usually it is HDD mud system, water well drilling mud system. In oil drilling mud system, they do not need a shale shaker feed pump.

2 As feeding pump of decanter centrifuge.

In some liquid mud plant, they may use the vertical submersible pump as transfer pump.

Geothermal drilling equipments

Geothermal drilling is the process of creating boreholes in the earth to extract the earth’s heat. Basically it is similar with the other type drilling, like horizontal directional drilling, CBM drilling, water well drilling, etc. Just its treating capacity required is smaller and the separated solids is much fine. So usually they will required decanter centrifuge and shale shaker.

Cementing oilfield

Cementing is one of oilfield service, It delivers engineered solutions to prepare the wellbore to receive cement. The main objectives of cementing are to seal the annulus (the space between the casing and the borehole) and to isolate each producing zone in the well. The cement sheath also protects the producing zone from unwanted water and gas, protects the casing from corrosion and stabilizes the wellbore.

Except for Cementing, oilfield service also includes sand control, well completion , drilling fluids service, etc. GN solids control provide complete line of drilling fluids solids control system & equipments.

Portable mud cleaning system in Brazil

See the photo right, it is a portable drilling mud cleaning system, it can be moved by a truck head, and when it is stopped, it can be put on the flat ground. From left to right, it is GNZS703 linear motion shale shaker 2 units, GNZJ703 mud cleaner, GN mixing hopper and mixing pump. This system treating capacity can be up to 500gallons/min, it can be used for horizontal direction drilling, water well drilling or drilling mud treatment in the plant.

We also provide another type portable mud cleaning system called trailer mounted mud system, which is put on the trailer.

Portable drilling mud system

GN independently design portable drilling mud system for HDD and water well drilling mud system, which is containerized for sea freight. Especially if your rig is truck mounted, you’d better use a trailer mounted/portable mud system, you only need a truck front to trail it from one site to another.

A 200gpm portable drilling mud system including a mini shale shaker, a mini mud cleaner, mixing hopper and mixing pump, and a 5.5m length mud tank. When you finish the project, you just need to pull off the walkway and hand rail to the side, and pull off the lights, then you can use the truck front to take it away. 

Drilling Waste management system for cold area

GN designed a set of drilling waste management system for cold area, like Russia. We put decanter centrifuge, vertical cutting dryer, screw pump, VFD control panel and electric control panel, intermediate mud tank inside a standard container, and add heat material inside the container to keep it warm.

The solids discharge port of decanter centrifuge and vertical cutting dryer is out of the container, they put the system on top of another tank to collect the waste cuttings. For convenient maintenance, we open 2 doors on the length side of the container, and the 2 sides of the container can be opened to remove the equipments. 

Mud gun in tank bottom

The function of mud gun in a solids control system is agitating and transferring. Usually it works together with mud agitator, the main body of mud gun is in the bottom of the tank, same with mud agitator shaft. Mud gun pipeline can be used to transfer mud from one tank to another. Its power come from mud pump pressure and jet mud mixer pressure.

Check the photo below for the mud gun, mud agitator and various pipelines in the tank bottom. The mud gun is operated by butterfly valve or gate valve installed on top of the mud tank.

4 Screw protected by tungsten carbide tiles, and have spare tiles
