Principio de funcionamiento:
La centrífuga es alimentada a través de un tubo estacionario, el cual se encuentra dentro de un eje hueco conectado al transportador helicoidal giratorio (espiral). Luego entra en un compartimiento de alimentación y es acelerado a través de ranuras de alimentación dentro de la tina giratoria. Una vez dentro de la tina, las fuerzas centrífugas aceleran los sólidos pesados, donde se sedimentan en la pared de la tina. El líquido más ligero llena la tina hasta el nivel del dique de vertido (vertederos).

Drill cuttings produced during oil& gas drilling process, and it is separated out from the solids control equipments like shale shaker, desander, desilter. There is still some clean mud inside in the waste drill cuttings, you need to dry the drill cuttings and recovery the oil inside the drilling mud. For Oil based mud(OBM) and water based mud(WBM), we use different recovery system for the drill cuttings.

GN solids control is going to ship one set of drill cuttings recovery system to Australia. Since their mud is WBM, we used hi-G shaker instead of cutting dryer. The system including the equipments below:

Mud tank: to have the cuttings and mud in storage

Shale shaker : to separate big solids, avoid the big solids enter into desilter cone and decanter centrifuge, it can longer the service life of hydrocyclone and centrifuge screw

Desilter : to separate solids from 45~75 microns and less the solids content, so it can protect the centrifuge bowl screw propeller

Decanter centrifuge : to separate fine solids 2~5 microns

Hi-G shaker: to dry the cuttings

Our engineer from GN solids control went to India for first time commissioning of a 500gpm drilling mud system in India, they use it for trenchless. For the complete drilling mud system( including mud tank, shale shaker, desander/desilter, mixing hopper and pump, electric control panel and hand rail, walkways, etc), GN solids control provide free commissioning service for the first time installation , and we trained the client’s engineer well.

The mud tank is standard 40ft container size, which can be transported by standard 40ft container trailer, and the extra mud storage tank can increase the total storage capacity of the mud system, most clients will choose extra mud tank for such system.

To transfer slurry( or mud) from drilling rig, there are various types pumps, normally we have centrifugal pump, screw pump, diaphragm pump, triplex mud pump, etc.

There are a lot of kinds of centrifugal pump used for drilling mud system, there are horizontal centrifugal pump and vertical centrifugal pump, submersible slurry pump, water pump, etc.

Screw pump , especially single screw pump is used for feeding decanter centrifuge, it works stably than centrifugal pump, but the disadvantages are complicated maintenance, and it is easy to be damaged.

Triplex mud pump is used to transfer the mud to drilling mud system to the rig again for re-used, so it is high-pressure mud pump.

Diaphragm pump, also known as Pneumatic Diaphragm Pump, is a positive displacement pump used for drilling waste management.

GNLW223VFD decanter centrifuge is designed for mining diamond core drilling, its max rotary speed up to 4900r/min, its typical speed can reach 3800rpm and 4500rpm by providing different size pulleys, its separation point up to 2µm. GN150gpm,350gpm,500gpm mud recycling system can add hydraulic leg design, this is for easy transportation, as you know, most of the drilling site is far from city and the transportation cost and crane or folk lift cost is very expensive, the traditional way is to use the crane to lift the complete mud system and put it on the truck, then you can move it from one site to another, but sometimes it is inconvenient in some jobsite.

GN designed hydraulic mud system can be lifting by the hydraulic device which is higher and wider than the trailer, so the trailer can be opened directly into the mud system , then operate the hydraulic device again to drop it down on the trailer, by this way, you do not need to rent a crane every time when you want to move the mud system to another jobsite.

Mud cleaner and desilter are all used for drilling fluids solids control system, what is the difference between them?

Mud cleaner could be 3 in 1 or 2 in 1, 3 in1 means desander cone, desilter cone and underflow shale shaker. 2 in 1 means desander cone with underflow shaker or desilter cone with shaker, usually it is the latter one. I mean, it must have a shale shaker in mud cleaner. Desander cone is 10 inch, desilter cone is 4 inch, their qty can be customized or according to GN solids control standard model, 1x 10”+8x 4” or 2x 10”+12 x 4” or 16 x 4”+16x 4”.

Desilter is composed of desilter cone and bracket, sometimes it has a small underflow shaker with small screen area, but most time it did not have a shaker, only desilter cones. Usually it is 4inch cone, the qty could be 8ea, 12ea or 16ea or customized according to the required treating capacity.
